Unimatic released a limited edition, left-hand version of its Modello Uno timepiece, in collaboration with Italian retailer Grimoldi Milano earlier this week.

The Modello Uno Ref. U1-GM dive watch features a stainless steel case that measures 41.5 mm x 13.6 mm, with 2.5 mm thick domed sapphire, a unique left hand “Destro” positioned locking crown with crown guards — and most notably is offered in a bright orange colorway.

A 3Hz Seiko caliber NH35A automatic movement drives the hours, minutes, and center seconds for up to 41-hours when fully wound. Being a Seiko, the movement is reliable buy the accuracy, without any additional adjustments, is -20/+40 seconds a day, and the movement has a hacking function so you can precisely set the seconds. There’s no date function, and the dial is super clean, as you see with most Unimatic timepieces. The uni-directional bezel has a 120-click rotation and gray aluminum insert with a 0-60 dive scale. Large luminous hour markers and hands result in excellent legibility.

The stainless steel screw-in caseback is engraved with the edition number XXX/100 and “Unimatic x Grimoldi Milano.” Each limited edition comes with an orange rubber two-piece strap (pictured), and an additional black Unimatoc nylon Nato-style strap. This is a professional dive watch and has a depth rating of 300 meters. The Unimatic x Grimoldi Milano Modello Uno (Ref. U1-GM) is limited to 100 pieces and had an approximate retail price of $700 but is marked as sold out on Unimatic’s website, although it may be still available at the retailer.
