Longines has re-issued yet another throwback timepiece to its Heritage collection. This watch was inspired by a 1947 Military Marine Nationale design from the archive.

Details are scant but we know the case measures 38.5 mm, is made of stainless steel, and it comes with a solid screwed caseback with “THE LONGINES HERITAGE MILITARY MARINE NATIONAL ENGRAVED.”

Most interestingly, Longines printed one of its historic logos at 12 o’clock which reads “LONGINES FAB. SUISSE” in black, against the textured cream-colored dial. The hour ring and minute/seconds chapter ring are also both printed in black. A blued pencil-shaped hour and minute handset, with black lume, displays the hours, minutes, and long non-luminescent central seconds hand.

Similar to past models, the Longines Heritage Military Marine Nationale features a 1947 retro design, based on the historic World War II generation Military Marine Nationale. The stepped bezel is fixed and has been polished. The watch is powered by an ETA automatic movement (caliber L888.5) with a 64-hour power reserve. A caramel brown leather strap with matching two-stitch threading is paired with the watch and can be removed by accessing the spring bars from the backside or by using the drilled lugs. (Ref.
