In 2016, to celebrate 85 years since the original Reverso line was launched (1931), Jaeger-LeCoultre will debut three special collections at SIHH in January: the Reverso Classic, Reverso Tribute, and Reverso One.
At this time, Jaeger-LeCoultre has only released info on the Reverso Classic and Tribute lines. The Reverso One is a new feminine collection that will be revealed January 18th, 2016 at the opening of SIHH.
The Reverso Classic comes in a stainless steel case, available in three sizes: small (34 mm x 21 mm x 7.40 mm), medium (40 mm x 24.4 mm x 7.40 mm), and large (45.6 mm x 27.4 x 9.70 mm). The small version is powered by a quartz JLC Caliber 657 movement, and the larger two are powered by the JLC Caliber 965 automatic mechanical movement.
The dial is has a silver-toned surface, vertical brushed outer ring, with transferred black numerals, around a guilloché center with a black transferred minute track, along with blued baton hour and minute hands.
The caseback of the Reverso Classic timepiece is in steel and allows for customization, such as personal engravings.
Reverso Classic Large Duo
The Reverso Classic Large Duo comes in a 47 mm x 28.3 mm x 11.6 mm case, crafted in either stainless steel or pink gold. The front side has a silver-toned, vertical brushed and guilloché dial with black transferred numerals, with blued baton hands. And instead of a solid caseback, there is an additional time display on the back, in black with a Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern and white hour-markers and sword-shaped hands.
A 24-hour day/night indicator appears at 6 o’clock on the brushed, guilloché front dial, while the black dial on the back displays the home time. The Jaeger-LeCoultre anchor symbol replaces the numeral 12 on the back dial. The second dial also reveals, through an aperture in its center, the oscillating weight that winds the movement.
The watch is powered by the automatic JLC caliber 969, which beats at 4Hz and has 229 total components (30 jewels) and a power reserve of 38-hours.
Reverso Tribute Duo
The Reverso Tribute Duo comes in a stainless steel case measuring 42.8 mm x 25.5 mm x 9.15 mm. The front dial is slightly grained, in white, with blue hour markers, hands, and a blue-printed subdial, and Dauphine-type hands. The back is silver-toned for the hours, minutes and day/night indicator, with a blue guilloché background, and Dauphine-type hands.
JLC Caliber 854A/2 powers the watch. It is manually wound, beats at 3Hz, and is made up of 180 total components (including 21 jewels). The power reserve is 45 hours.
(Editor’s Note: Driven by mechanical, manually-wound movements, all Reverso Tribute models feature the Duo concept of two independent faces complete with a day/night indicator. A discreet trigger system serving to adjust the second timezone is seamlessly integrated into the case at 6 o’clock so as to preserve its smooth, aesthetic lines.)
Reverso Tribute Calendar
The Reverso Tribute Calendar has two dials and is powered by JLC Caliber 853, which beats at 3 Hz and has 282 components (21 jewels) and a power reserve or 45 hours. The case is rose gold measures (49.4 mm x 29.9 mm x 12.09 mm).
The front has a silver-toned grained opaline dial, with gilt hour-markers and matching Dauphine-type hands, displays the hours, minutes, day, month, date, and moon phases. The back dial features an anthracite Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern, gilt hour-markers, and Dauphine-type hands indicate a second time zone, along with the day/night indication.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reversos will be officially unveiled at SIHH 2016 in January, along with pricing.
