The Watches of Switzerland Group opened a dedicated mono-brand Rolex boutique in Glasgow, Scotland this week.
Located in the prime Glasgow city center, the boutique consists of approximately 1432 square feet of retail space, on two floors, including a sumptuous VIP lounge on the second floor (pictured top) — this is Scotland’s first Rolex boutique.
Architectural and interior plans were made in conjunction with Rolex’s interior design team in Geneva and the aesthetic is consistent with the look across Rolex’s vast retail boutique network. The store, which opened on Monday, July 27, 2020, replaces the Watches of Switzerland Group’s multi-brand store at 28 Buchanan Street.
A bespoke bronze and slatted walnut facade lead to interiors with finishes in limestone, marble, bronze, walnut, and leather. According to Watches of Switzerland, “there are also unique and beautifully designed stucco panels decorated with imagery of Glasgow University’s historic main campus — a nod to the city, which is now home to Rolex’s first boutique in Scotland.”
Commenting on the new Rolex boutique, Brian Duffy, chief executive of The Watches of Switzerland Group, said: “This store opening is an extremely positive move for our group and testament to our relationship with Rolex which dates back to 1919 when we were the first appointed Rolex retailer in the UK so it is fitting that we’re opening the only dedicated Boutique in Scotland.”
