Audemars Piguet announced a new Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra Thin for 2021 — with a green dial — available exclusively at AP House locations (Munich, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Milan, London, Bangkok, and Tokyo).

The new green smoked sunburst dial is interesting for sure, but there’s no tapisserie pattern, which is uncommon for a Royal Oak and may not appeal to consumers wanting the classic aesthetic. The Extra Thin is also one of the brand’s best sellers, so trying a new dial texture was presumably a risk worth taking.

As with previous iterations of the Ref. 15202 series — the case measurements are 39 mm x 8.1 mm, and the movement is the existing AP caliber 2121 with no center seconds hand. The case is in platinum, so it will be much heavier than steel. And it will cost approximately four times what the steel version with a blue dial lists for ($26,700) at $105,400.
