Porsche Design unveils a new collection consisting of eleven timepieces, presented in 42 mm diameter titanium cases, called the Chronotimer Series 1.
The color of the dials vary between black, carbon, white or deep blue. Bezels come in black titanium, titanium or 18K rose gold. And a variety of straps and bracelets are available, including leather, textile, rubber and titanium.
According to Porsche Design, the Chronotimer Series 1 was developed entirely by Porsche Design Timepieces AG, based in Solothurn (Switzerland), and was also manufactured in Switzerland. It is based on the Chronograph I timepiece from 1972 and the Titanium Chronograph from 1980. (Editor’s note: the movement was not developed by Porsche Design, it is an ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph, the same caliber used in the Chronograph I from 1972.)
A unique black-tinted sapphire crystal caseback shows the 7750 components including a Porsche Design customized skeleton rotor. Water-resistance is 50 meters.
The Porsche Design Chronotimer Series 1 timepieces retail from $4,450 to $7,950 and will be available beginning July 2015.
