The IWC Pilot Chronograph Spitfire Bronze (pictured top) is one of the more interesting watches coming from Schauffhausen in 2019. The Spitfire Bronze (Ref. IW387902) comes in a unique 41 mm x 15.3 mm bronze case, with a green dial, and is powered by in-house caliber 69380 which features a column-wheel. Retail is expected to be around $6,500.

 Laureato Perpetual Calendar

Girard-Perregaux will debut the Laureato Perpetual Calendar next month at SIHH. The watch comes in a 42 mm 11.84 mm steel case with a blue Clous de Paris hobnail motif dial and displays hours, minutes, central seconds, day, date, month, and leap year. Interestingly, the month indication is shown via an aperture on the bottom dial. The movement is 4hz in-house automatic caliber GP01800-0033, which features circular graining and Geneva stripes, and has a power reserve of 54-hours. Retail is approximately $32,000.

Laurent Ferrier Galet Annual Calendar School

This year at SIHH Laurent Ferrier will present the Galet Annual Calendar Montre École which comes in a 40 mm x 10 mm round case made from steel, 18K red gold, or 18K yellow gold. The dia comes in either two-toned silvered or slate-grey dial, with blue printed numerals and white indices. The hours, minutes, seconds, and annual calendar with day, date, and month, power reserve on the back are driven by in-house caliber LF126.01 which runs at 3Hz and has an 80-hour power reserve.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

Ahead of SIHH, Jaeger-LeCoultre has announced the Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel, which comes in a 39 mm x 10 mm white gold case, limited to 100 pieces. The blue enamel dial features a so-called “cocktail” guilloche motif and an embossed moonphase disc at 6 o’clock. Automatic caliber 925/2 – which has a 70-hour power reserve, top-level finishing, and a gold skeletonized oscillating weight – drives hours, minutes, central seconds, date, and moonphase indications. Retail is $35,000.

Cartier Privé collection SIHH 2019

Cartier is bringing back their tonneau-shaped Privé collection which dates back to 1906, and will officially debut at SIHH 2019. The platinum Tonneau large model (pictured) measures 46.1 mm x 26.2 mm, is manually wound, time-only, with a silvered sunburst dial, blued hands, and a curved case/bezel/caseback – topped off with a red cabochon crown.

Panerai Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Edition PAM982

The Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Edition (Ref. PAM00982) is Panerai’s latest professional dive watch which will officially debut next month at SIHH 2019. As the name suggests, the watch was created in collaboration with French free-diving champion Guillaume Néry (whose rendering is engraved on the caseback). The watch comes in a 47 mm titanium case with a 300-meter water resistance rating. Uniquely, the left side of the case has screw-down pushers which operate the flyback chronograph.

The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2019 (SIHH) takes place January 14-17, 2019 and is open to the public January 17 with the purchase of a ticket for CHF 70 per person.
