Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix and customizer Label Noir collaborated together to create a special matte gray and black 50-piece limited edition Aikon timepiece, available online beginning on Black Friday.
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Automatic Limited Edition Label Noir is presented in sand-blasted anthracite gray DLC stainless steel version of the company’s best-selling full-size 42 mm Aikon case.
Instead of the Clous de Paris motif normally seen on Aikon dials was replaced with a knock-down lacquered matte gray finish, surrounded by a fixed bezel with a matte finish that’s accented by polished black tabs. “LABEL NOIR” is stamped on the dial at 6 o’clock in black. The hands and applied indices and company emblem (at 12) have a black polished finish that contrasts the otherwise matte surfaces of the watch dial and case middle. Even the date wheel is all-black with white numbers. “MAURICE LACROIX” and “SWISS MADE” are printed on the dial in contrasting white.
Driving the watch is an outsourced (Sellita SW-200-1) 4Hz automatic movement with 26 jewels and 38-hours of power reserve with a vertical Côtes de Genève and sun-brushed rotor. A sapphire crystal protects the front, with a screw-in sapphire crystal caseback. The crown screws-down to the case and the water-resistance is 200 meters.
Completing the customized Label Noir aesthetic is a black textured calfskin leather strap connected to the case via a seamless integrated lug design.
Retail is $2,590.
