Havana-based watch brand Cuervo y Sobrinos released another Robusto Churchill limited edition that pays homage to the late former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Cuervo y Sobrinos Robusto Churchill “Sir Winston” Edition comes in a 43 mm x 12.45 mm stainless steel case with an intricate stepped design — that extends to the stainless steel and titanium bracelet — with a unique alternating brushed and polished finish. Even more unique than the case design and finish, is that the flat crown flips in and out, to wind or set the time, day, and date.

Following successful sales of the Robusto Churchill “Yalta Edition” according to Cuervo y Sobrinos, the company decided to make another watch that highlights Winston Churchill’s trip to Havana after World War II had just ended. Churchill was gifted 500 Romeo y Julieta cigars — said to be his favorite brand — and “Robusto” is a term used to describe a short and “robust” cigar, which is how the name of the watch came about.

A petrol blue “Clou de Paris” guilloché dial, with alternating silver applied Arabic and faceted arrow-shaped indices, and the CyS emblem applied at 12, the face of the watch stands out as much as the unique case design. The faceted sword-shaped hour and minute hands, center seconds hand with arrow-shaped counter-weight, and a dual-wheel day-date aperture at 6, complete the Havana-inspired aesthetic.

The Robusto Churchill “Sir Winston” Edition is limited to 100 pieces and comes with an additional dark blue high-gloss cayman strap, and is delivered in a wooden humidor display box. (Ref. 2810.1SW)
