I recently visited the NYC Breguet boutique on Madison Avenue, which has a wide assortment of the best Breguet timepieces currently available for sale. There was only one that I knew had to try on, though, the Breguet Tradition 7047BR Tourbillon Fusee and Chain. Originally introduced at Baselworld in 2012, the 7047BR movement has a unique configuration: it is exposed on the dial side of the watch as opposed to the case back side. Furthermore, it is protected by a tall domed sapphire crystal, which looks amazing.

The Tradition 7047BR comes in a 41 mm 18k white gold or rose gold case. It is fully polished with Breguet’s signature finely fluted caseband. The dial is in black-coated engine-turned 18k gold, off-centred at 7 o’clock. Breguet hour and minute hands. A 60-second tourbillon sits at 1 o’clock. The hand wound manufacture movement, caliber 569, is anthracite coated and features a tourbillon and a constant force fusee and chain transmission.

The power reserve is 50-hours, with a power-reserve indicator on the barrel drum. Titanium upper bridge of the tourbillon carriage Breguet type tourbillon bar. Straight-line Swiss lever escapement. Breguet titanium balance with four gold adjustment screws and a silicon Breguet balance spring.

Leather strap with rose gold buckle. Sapphire caseback. Water-resistant 30 meters. Retail price is approximately $187,000 in white gold. (Ref. 7047BR/G9/9ZU)
