To start off the year, Seiko introduced a trio of limited edition Prospex Black Series, each presented in a black DLC-coated stainless steel case.

The Seiko Prospex Marinemaster Black Series SLA035 “Professional” watch comes in a 44.3 mm x 15.4 mm case (Baby Marinemaster case), is rated to 300 meters water-resistant, and is limited to just 600 pieces. This watch is powered by Seiko’s automatic caliber 8L35, operating at 4Hz with hacking, hand winding, and a power reserve of 50 hours.

Launched alongside the Professional dive watch was a pair of watches inside the same style of case with a slightly curved lug design, somewhat comparable to twisted lugs on a Speedmaster. The SPB125J1 “Sumo” Prospex Black Series comes with a 6R35 automatic movement that’s good for 70-hours of power reserve, inside a 45 mm x 12.9 mm diameter case and is limited to 7,000 pieces.

The SSC761J1 Prospex Black Series, which is solar-powered, comes in a slightly smaller 44.5 mm x 13.7 mm diameter case, both with 200 meters of water-resistance and made for diving. The solar-powered quartz models add chronograph functionality to the time and date of the automatic version. Both have an off-white aged lume on their hands and indices.

All three Seiko Prospex Black Series dive watches come on a black rubber accordion-style Seiko strap. Availability begins in Q1 2020.
