Perhaps following the trend of green watches — led by the likes of Rolex with their Submariner “Hulk” Ref. 116610 LV or Patek Philippe with their Khaki Green Aquanaut Ref. 5168G-010  — Longines introduced new green versions of their HydroConquest timepiece for 2020. Or maybe Longines just realized green is a great color and should be included in their catalog.

Either way, they’ve come out with not one but two different Green HydroConquest dive watches. One is called “Khaki Green” and comes with a smooth, matte-finished dial surface and a green ceramic bezel insert and is available in 41 mm and 43 mm versions. The other comes in what Longines refers to as “Bright Green” — and intriguingly the dial itself is ceramic with a vertical brushed pattern along with a matching ceramic bezel insert.

The Khaki Green HydroConquest models are available now for $1,600 and the Bright Green model is more exclusive (boutique-only exclusive, meaning you can only get it from Longines) and will retail for approximately $2,100. Both versions come with your choice of either a stainless steel bracelet or matching green rubber strap, and each is equipped with Longines’ toolless quick change functionality so as to be able to swap between a bracelet and strap with ease.

The ETA-based Longines caliber L888 automatic movement beats at 3.5Hz and 64-hours of power reserve. The dial features a mixture of applied Arabic numerals and circular indices and displays hours, minutes, central seconds, and the date. All versions have a screw-down crown (with prominent crown guards), screwed-in caseback, and are water-resistant to 300 meters.
