Pocket Watch Tri-axial JH01 by HD3 Complication

tri axiale1__.jpg

[ via HD3 Complication ]

Pocket Watch Tri-axial JH01, First HD3 Sculpture designed by Jorg Hysek

This incredible new object has been conceived like a piece of art, a sculpture presented in a mysterious pedestal, in which the pocket watch is hidden, and only its heartbeat can be heard through the wood of the instrument maker (originated from Vallée de Joux), which is well known because it amplifies the resonance naturally , just like a music instrument does. A single push with the thumb on the fingerprint drive and it recognizes its proprietary. The watch will then come out very slowly from its hiding place, in order to be discovered and appreciated.

The pocket watch has an extraordinary tri-axial tourbillon, a very special movement especially developed by HD3 Complication. The first rotation is the one of the tourbillon on its own axis; on a different axis, the second rotation allows the reading of the seconds; the whole movement is the third rotation, moving on the third axis and allowing the reading of the minutes. Finally the reading of the hours is done on an independent disc.

I like the collaboration between Cvstos and Pagani. The end result is a very pleasing design. The Cvstos Pagani Zonda F Chrono is made of a high grade 5 titanium with double sapphire dials. On 28 September 2008 in Singapore, the world's greatest drivers and cars will challenge in not only Asia's first street race but the first ever night race in FORMULA 1™ history!

Richard Mille is an amateur racer with an unquenchable thirst for speed and power! 'His racing machines for the wrist" are designed with the same aspects for precision, performance, aesthetics and endurance as F1 cars and drivers, Mille's calibres were put to another dimension of rigorous tests when his close friend, Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa began 'test-driving' his watches in 2006.

LOUIS MOINET Vertalis Tourbillon

VertaTourbi__.jpg

[ via SwissTime ]

Louis Moinet is proud to present what many experts already consider to be one of the world's finest tourbillons. The unique VERTALIS model features an innovative aesthetic concept distinguished by a modern and original blend of technology and design. As its name implies, the difference here is all about verticality: VERTALIS intensifies the magic of the tourbillon by connecting its carriage to the barrel by means of a hand-drawn and bevelled vertical bar. To add to the fascinating vision of the tourbillon carriage in motion, VERTALIS offers an openworked version of the barrel. The latter's cover performs an average rotation in 6 hours and enables one to keep visual check on the power reserve according to the state of wind of the barrel spring.

Louis Moinet displays its determination to combine aesthetic and technical aspects, particularly through the vertical bar that showcases the technology of the watch, while extending over onto the case. This original and modern way of uniting displays, technology and casing is directly inspired by the historical world of Louis Moinet, and especially by some of the drawings published in his famous Traité d'Horlogerie in 1848.

LIMITED EDITION OF 12
Crafted in a limited edition of 12, the exclusive VERTALIS tourbillon movement is hand-wound and beats at a cadence of 21,600 vibrations per hour. One particularly striking technical characteristic is the spectacular visibility of the winding mechanism through the case-back. The "octopus" spring plays three roles by acting as pull-out piece spring, lever spring and click spring.

EBEL 1911 BTR QP Pink Gold

This spectacular face of this new landmark creation is strongly reminiscent of contemporary architectural achievements such as modern art museums with their large bay windows amid a metal frame creating an alternating pattern of glass and steel. The play on perspective as well as the clever lighting and volume effects all vividly evoke a contemporary work of architecture, while the elegantly understated and subtly contrasting choice of colors inexorably draws the gaze to the intricate workings of the watch mechanism below. The ultimate goal of such sophisticated structures being to highlight the objets d'art inside, it comes as no surprise to learn that the movement inside the alternating slate grey and black openworked dial is fully worthy of such a spectacular stage-setting.

WYLER GENÈVE Limited Edition Tantalum Chronograph

[ via Wyler Geneve ]

WYLER GENÈVE TANTALIZES WITH A NEW LIMITED-EDITION CHRONOGRAPH

In Wyler Genève's latest limited-edition chronopgraph, the precious metal tantalum is used to make a new ultra-resistant body for the brand's shock-absorbing case. In keeping with tantalum's rarity as a metal, only 88 models of this chronograph will be made available worldwide.

For his misdeeds in Greek mythology, the god Tantalus was condemned to stand knee-deep in water with fresh fruit hanging over his head. Whenever he stooped to drink the water, it would recede out of reach; whenever he reached to grab the fruit, the branches would always be beyond his grasp. This analogy spawned the verb "to tantalise", referring to any attempt to tease someone with something desirable whilst keeping it out of their reach. The derivation also proved apt for the metal discovered in 1802 by Swedish chemist Anders Ekeberg that resists corrosion by acids (even, notably, the aqua regia that can dissolve gold and platinum). It is during an exploration to the North Pole that Jorgen Amundsen (great great nephew of Roald Amundsen and Creative Director of Villemont) had the idea of incorporating a navigation system into a watch, which enables one to easily locate the cardinal points according to the position of the sun.

The Artic Navigation System by Villemont is the latest model of the AMUNDSEN collection. It is proposed in an extra-red gold and black-coated titanium case as well as in black-coated titanium, and in steel and black-coated titanium. This sportive timepiece houses a self-winding chronograph.

Its bi-directional rotating bezel allows its owner to find the cardinal points (indicated on the inner bezel) at any time. In daylight by simply positioning the hour on the 24h scale of the bi-directional bezel towards the hour hand, the wearer will immediately know where the sun sits at that precise time. For example, at 5 am, the sun sits in the North-East.

At night, a drawing of the stars on the back will help him to find his North. In the Northern hemisphere, the North Star (Ursula Major) points at north and in the Southern hemisphere, the Southern Cross will help him to find the South.

IWC Ingenieur Zinedine Zidane

These are pics from the launch party, for the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane, that took place in Paris. Tony Parker, Eva Longoria, Zinédine Zidane and Veronique Fernandez all attended the event.

PRESS RELEASE:

The famous IWC Ingenieur watch has been introduced in a commemorative, limited edition variant that pays tribute to a football legend. Presented in a series of 1,000 individual pieces, the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch commemorates the vibrant career and exceptional skill and stamina of Zinédine Zidane. The Marseilles-born Zidane, who played for the clubs of Juventus Turin and Real Madrid obtained numerous titles, both national and international. Recognition for his outstanding accomplishments include three World Footballer of the Year awards, and the 1999 World Sportsman of the Year.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch shares the case design, 120-meter water resistance, anti-magnetic protection, and exclusive Pellaton-winding 80110 caliber movement of the regular production Ingenieur Automatic. It is the many distinctive details which give this commemorative model its unique flavor; the blue dial and strap, both accented with red, evoke the national colors of France--the country which Zidane played 108 times for over a twelve year interval. Turning the timepiece over reveals an intricately detailed caseback which showcases an engraved portrait of the athlete and his signature, along with a circular designation for the model name, and the inscriptions "Zinédine Zidane", and "World Championship 1998". Additionally, a small engraving opposite the serial number shows the numbered edition.

This limited edition IWC timepiece was introduced by IWC CEO Georges Kern and Zinédine Zidane himself, at a special event in Paris on June 16. MORE PICS
