The famous IWC Ingenieur watch has been introduced in a commemorative, limited edition variant that pays tribute to a football legend. Presented in a series of 1,000 individual pieces, the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch commemorates the vibrant career and exceptional skill and stamina of Zinédine Zidane. The Marseilles-born Zidane, who played for the clubs of Juventus Turin and Real Madrid obtained numerous titles, both national and international. Recognition for his outstanding accomplishments include three World Footballer of the Year awards, and the 1999 World Sportsman of the Year.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch shares the case design, 120-meter water resistance, anti-magnetic protection, and exclusive Pellaton-winding 80110 caliber movement of the regular production Ingenieur Automatic. It is the many distinctive details which give this commemorative model its unique flavor; the blue dial and strap, both accented with red, evoke the national colors of France--the country which Zidane played 108 times for over a twelve year interval. Turning the timepiece over reveals an intricately detailed caseback which showcases an engraved portrait of the athlete and his signature, along with a circular designation for the model name, and the inscriptions "Zinédine Zidane", and "World Championship 1998". Additionally, a small engraving opposite the serial number shows the numbered edition.

This limited edition IWC timepiece was introduced by IWC CEO Georges Kern and Zinédine Zidane himself, at a special event in Paris on June 16. MORE PICS

A carbon-neutral watch, made for a cause that benefits everyone - this is the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition "Climate Action". It is the symbol of a world that can be saved. The AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO has developed a new limited edition vehicle, the exclusive SL 63 AMG Edition IWC. Limited to a total of 200 units, the new roadster features an eye-catching designo magno Kashmir white finish as well as an AMG Exterior Carbon package with a matte surface. In keeping with the exterior appearance, the vehicle's interior is fitted with Carbon matte trim as well as Tobago Brown nappa leather upholstery that creates additional visual and tactile highlights. Tony Parker recently received a custom Piaget watch as a gift from his new bride Eva Longoria. Suprisingly he was also signed for a new ad campaign for watch brand IWC Schaffhausen. I bet his contract restricts him from wearing anything but IWC watches in public. Charlize Theron recently broke her exclusive Raymond Weil contract by wearing another brand in public. She was then sued by Raymond Weil for the contract breach. It makes sense, when a watch company pays you millions to respresent their brand, that you should wear their watches exclusively.

Check out the new Big Ingenieur from IWC with a 51112 calibre movement with a seven-day power reserve. The case is a stainless steel 45.5mm beast and the movement is one of the best out there. This model has the date displayed at 6 and the power reserve for seven days at 3. This is the largest Ingenieur ever built and in my opinion one of the best looking too.

Here is a photo of the Limited Edition IWC Pilot's Double Chronograph. They have just announced another Limited version of this watch that looks almost identical to this watch except it will have red accented hands and a TOP GUN logo on the back. The watch is based on the Navy's elite pilot school called Top Gun.

Here is a cool shot of the IWC Aquatimer that Jamie Foxx wore in the new movie Miami Vice. From the picture you can see that these watches are large and sporty. He also wore another special edition IWC watch throughout the movie.

Here is a nice image of two limited edition IWC Ingenieur Automatic CLS AMG wristwatches. IWC and Mercedes worked together to create a limted edition car and watch. The CLS AMG IWC Mercedes has IWC guages and badges along with titanium paint, wheels and accents. The watch is made of titanium and has the Mercedes AMG logo on the dial. They made only 55 of the cars and 55 of the wristwatches. I recently saw one of the 55 Mercedes CLS cars when I was at the Pepsi center attending a Denver Nuggets basketball game. It is probably one of the nicest looking sedans on the road today. The car and watch are both breathtaking with their repsective titanium paint and case. Co-branding like this is becoming more common between the automotive and watch industries. Personally I love to see such co-branding because it adds even more perceived value, especially to the wristwatch industry.
