Chopard recently held a Charity luncheon to commemorate the upcoming Singapore F1 Night Race. Their innovative new tourbillon, the L.U.C. Tourbillon Tech Twist, was offered for sale by silent auction during this luncheon. All the proceeds will go to charity.

This piece is one-of-a-kind and features a 42mm white gold case that houses the Calibre 4TBST (Quattro Tourbillon Black Superlight Twist) movement. The manufacture movement features an ultra-light silicon escapement along with a sporty black PVD coated mainplate and bridges.

Chopard debuted their new Mille Migilia line at Baselworld in April 2008. The model (pictured above) is the limited edition Mille Migilia GT XL Chrono Speed Black, which has a Mille Migilia emblem on the dial at 3 o'clock. The case is 44 mm in diameter and is made of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated steel, for a finish that is not only beautiful, but ultra scratch resistant as well. The bezel is engraved with a tachometer scale, which is typical of racing chronos, and allows you to calculate average lap times.

Interestingly Chopard used a curved sapphire crystal with the white numbers "12" and "6" stenciled over the the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions on the actual crystal. This is not something you see on a lot of watches, but I think it looks great.

The hour markers and hands are coated with Superluminova for excellent night time visibility.

The movement is a Valijoux 7750 automatic mechanical movement. Each watch has been certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC) and are therefore certified chronometers.

As a tribute to the legendary Mille Migilia race the strap is crafted of natural rubber with a classic 1960 Dunlop racing tire tread. Only 1000 Limited Edition versions of this wristwatch were created and they cost around $8,500, if you can find one.

What makes the latest L.U.C. watch from Chopard so special can be seen in an opening at the top of the watch. A tiny window allows a view of the striking mechanism and the hammer. The Strike One watch does just what you would think, it strikes each passing hour once. The watch uses the LUC 96SH caliber and the mechanism provides the energy for the hammer to strike each hour. The 18K white gold watch also has date, hour and minute indications and shows small seconds. This watch looks a lot like the Chopard L.U.C. Twist that we featured earlier this year.

I am really becoming a fan of Chopard watches, here is another nice wristwatch from their manufacture. The "L.U.C Twist" is equipped with the mechanical self-winding "L.U.C 1.96" movement, chronometer-certified by the COSC and carrying the "Poinçon de Genève" quality hallmark, endowed with a power-reserve of approximately 70 hours. The silvery coloured dial is inspired by the "L.U.C Regulator" watch that was voted "Watch of the Year" in 2004. The originality of this watch lies in its off-centred crown between 3 and 5 o'clock. The glare-resistant sapphire crystal ensures perfect readability of the dial. All square-scale alligator leather strap with pin buckle, available in brown or black. This model is water-resistant to 30 metres.

Here is a nice Chopard wristwatch called the Mille Migilia 2006 Gran Turismo. A very nice piece with a unique rubber strap that looks like tire treads. I have never seen a Chopard in person, but from the pictures I like their look. You can be sure if you pick up one these watches that you will own a very exclusive timepiece.

This is the new Chopard L.U.C. Pro One GMT diver's watch. It utilizes Chopard's new COSC certified Caliber L.U.C. 4.96 Pro One GMT movement, which has two piggyback barrels for 65 hours of autonomous running. The dial of this 42-mm wristwatch has a 24-hour hand with an orange-colored triangular tip, which points to a rotating bezel with a 24 hour scale that lets you set the watch to show the time in a second zone.
