I was watching one of my favorite shows, Man vs. Wild, on the Discovery Channel the other day and I noticed Bear was wearing a Breitling Emergency. I immediately searched it on Google and verified that he was in fact wearing a Breitling Emergency. The top picture is of the yellow dial version, but on the most recent show he wore a black dial version with a rubber strap (bottom picture). I have also heard that he occasionally wears a Bremont ALT-P, which I could not confirm, however there is a section of the Bremont site dedicated to Bear Grylls.

Unveiled at Baselworld 2008, the new Breitling Bentley GMT measures a whopping 49 mm in diameter. It is not the largest watch on the market, but definitely on the larger end. It features hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph and a 24 hour second time zone. It is equipped with Breitling Caliber 47B, which is a 38-jewel movement. It is like all Breitling models, a certified COSC chronometer.

The contrasting red triangle hand moves around the dial every 24 hours, while the rotating bezel features the names of 24 cities representing 24 time zones around the world. The chronograph central hand moves around the dial every 30 seconds.

The Bentley GMT is available in an 18k red gold case (pictured above) or a steel case. The dial is available in black (pictured above), silver or bronze. The chronograph dials are 6-hour, 15-minute and 60-second counters placed at 6, 9 and 3 o'clock. The crystal is a convex sapphire and is treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. It is 100 m water resistant. It comes with either a metal bracelet or a rubber strap. You do not see a lot of Breitlings with rubber straps, so this would be my choice.

Here is the Breitling Professional Skyracer Chronograph. This one retails for about five grand. I like almost all the Breitling models, but I think the Breitling Blackbird has a better looking dial and bracelet. It is hard to go wrong with any Breitling you buy, but for five grand I would definitely have to opt for the Blackbird over the Skyracer.

Here is a good video review of the Breitling Windrider Blackbird. It looks a lot like the Windrider Crosswinds Special, which is an awesome watch. I would have to say this is probably my favorite current Breitling model.

The Breitling Superocean Héritage Chronograph and Oris TT3 GrandPrix Limited Edition watches will both debut at Baselworld 2008. I am glad Breitling decided to add a chrono to their Superocean Heritage collection. The Oris dial looks really cool with F1 track names printed on the black carbon dial. I bet they both look great in person.

Here is the new Superocean Heritage that was introduced by Breitling at Baselworld 2007. It has Breitling Caliber 17 movement and like all Breitling models it is officially certified by the COSC. It has a steel case that is water-resistant to 660 feet (200 m/20 bars) with unidirectional ratcheted rotating bezel. It utilizes a cambered sapphire crystal that is glareproofed on both sides. It is a good size at 46 mm is diameter. The dial is black and the strap is black rubber. I guess a like it a little bit more than I did in May.

Check out the new Flying B by Breitling for Bentley. The look and shape are very different from the typical Breitling line and I love it. This is a steel model with a Breitling 44B calibre movement and of course it is a certified Chronometer like all Breitling models.

The new Breitling Superocean Heritage watches have woven steel bracelets and unidirectional rotating bezels with a 120-tooth system with a fluted profile for easy handling. Too bad these watches from one of my favorite watch makers, are so plain and boring.

The new Breitling Avenger Skyland is based on the solid Avenger “platform” and reflecting all its attributes, its rugged construction includes a screwlocked crown protected by substantial crown guards, pushpiece reinforcements screwed into steel as well as a thick glareproofed sapphire crystal. The result is a case that is particularly shock-resistant and water-resistant to 1,000 feet.

This new Breitling Avenger Skyalnd chrono is also distinguished by its user-friendliness that not only guarantees excellent wearer comfort but also smooth handling of the crown and non-slip pushpieces. Meanwhile, the large hands facilitate reading off the time in any conditions. The sophisticated lines are accentuated by the high-tech look of its dial with “stencil” numerals sporting an original design. The Avenger Skyland also comes in a special version made from blackened steel material achieved by an ultra-resistant carbon nitride-based treatment: a limited series nicknamed “Blacksteel”. I bet the Blacksteel version looks even better than this one.

Here is the Bentley Continental GT that broke the world ice speed record, reaching an average speed of 199.86mph on frozen sea off the coast of Finland. Kankkunen's team endured temperatures of minus 30 degrees Celsius on a 10km section of frozen sea, 50km north of Oulu in western Finland. Accelerating hard over 70cm-thick ice, Juha took around 5km to hit his optimum speed before reaching the start of the marked kilometre over which his speed was measured. In spite of the Continental GT’s exceptional grip and traction he experienced wheel-spin even above 120 mph.

This is a Breitling Chronomat Windrider, from one of my favorite watch brands. Breitling is the only manufacturer that soley produces certified chronometers. The fact that they produce all C.O.S.C certified chronometers says that their wristwatches are highly accurate. I love the unique design of all their watches which are an excellent alternative to a Rolex. Breilting's are generally very large and many of them come in polished stainless steel. The polished stainless steel creates an amazing look which is guaranteed to get looks. If you want a watch that provides the "bling bling" without having to buy a Rolex or a diamond watch, then this is a watch brand to consider.
