Nike just released their Nike Amp+ wristwatch and it is available at the Nike store for $79 right now. It is available in four colors: black/light graphite, black/sport red (pictured), border blue/ozone blue and deep nomax green/solar orange. An LED display shows the time of day and icons for the iPod controls. The watch also provides voice feedback of time, distance, calories and pace when coupled with Nike+ iPod Sport kit and Nike+ Ready shoes. You can control iPod songs from the left side button. Definitely one of the cooler iPod accessories that has come out this year.

Here is a prototype of the new Nike Amp+ iPod controlling wristwatch. This photo is far from a final version, but it is what Nike has submitted to the FCC for approval. We featured some pics earlier this year on some of the new Nike watches, but I have not heard anything new until now. This particular watch operates on the same non-Bluetooth frequency that the Nike+ iPod Sport kit uses. I am sure many iPod owners will be looking forward to controlling tracks from their wrist.

All over the internet today I have been finding this image which accidently went live on the Nike site long enough for a reader to copy the image before Nike deleted it. My guess is Nike did it as a publicity stunt or as a test before it goes live permanently. Either way it is a black digital Nike watch that reads data wirelessly from compatible Nike+ shoes.
