During his visit, the legendary multi-talented artist, trumpeter, composer and producer Quincy Jones, discovered the manufacturing secrets of Audemars Piguet timepieces and in particular those of the watch bearing his name, the Millenary Quincy Jones, which was presented at the SIHH 2010.

LeBron James and Jennifer Aniston are loyal to two top Swiss watch brands, Audemars Piguet and Rolex, respectively. Jennifer has been photographed with at least three different Rolex watches. LeBron has been photographed with at least two different Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshores. Both are excellent brands, although AP watches are much more rare. Last night, during a nationally televised press conference for NBA super star LeBron James to announce where he would be playing next year, LeBron (aka King James) was wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore wristwatch. Specifically the Royal Oak Offshore Volcano Limited Edition. Not only did he announce one of the most blockbuster free agent deals (sign-and-trade deal) in NBA history, with his decision to go to Miami (LeBron James, Dwanye Wade and Chris Bosh will all play on the same team), but he did so in style with one of the very best brands in the world of haute horology on his wrist, Audemars Piguet.

On Thursday June 3rd, famous American music producer and rap artist Swizz Beatz paid a visit to the Manufacture in Le Brassus to discover the workshops and the people who make the Audemars Piguet timepieces he so greatly admires.

Last Thursday, a very special visitor toured the watch firm's workshops. Swizz Beatz, born Kasseem Dean, rap artist and producer of well-known singers such as Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Britney Spears, Usher, Eminem and many others, had made the trip from the United States to the Vallée de Joux to experience a guaranteed change of scenery!

As a watch collector and an unconditional fan of Audemars Piguet, the star was able to admire the watchmakers' know-how by touring the workshops of the new Manufacture des Forges in the company of Olivier Audemars, Member of the Board of Directors and descendant of one of the founding families; and of Nicolas Kappenberger, General Manager of the Swiss and Austrian market. Swizz Beatz thus enjoyed a chance to understand the technological and aesthetic developments that led to the creation of the Royal Oak Carbon Concept watch, which he has just purchased from the Austrian retailer Richard Karner and was officially handed over by the latter in the company's Le Brassus premises.

This Saturday, during Memorial Day Weekend, the much anticipated UFC 114 will take place. More importantly, bitter rivals, and former light heavyweight champions, Quentin "Rampage" Jackson and "Suga" Rashad Evans will square off and fight to determine who is truly the best. The winner will become the UFC's top light heavyweight contender, and eventually go on to fight the current light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Rashad and Quintin are both great fighters and very strong, although due to the fact that Rampage has trained harder than ever for this fight, and Rashad has run his mouth more than ever, I personally think Rampage will win. Plus if you look at these two images, that were taken by Esther Lin of Fanhouse, you can see that "Rampage" has an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore on, which in my opinion gives him a slight edge over Rashad Evans. Rashad has a nice handmade Tom Ford suit on, I give him that, but Rampage rocks an Audi R8 and an AP Royal Oak Offshore.

The Audemars Piguet "Time to Give" Celebrity Charity Auction brought in $816,000 to benefit roadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Jay-Z, sitting front row, when asked what else he could add to the auction package of his autographed Royal Oak Offshore Las Vegas Strip and signed poster from "Fela" jokingly said he would "throw in a frame." The watch sold for $220,000; the evening's highest price.


Kelsey Grammer, when commenting on his autographed Jules Audemars Chronograph said it's" What James Bond would wear if he had taste." The watch sold for $45,000.

When Meryl Streep's watch sold for $100,000, Francois-Henry Bennahmias offered up a second autographed Meryl Streep Millenary Astrologia to a guest willing to match the $100,000 bid.

Vanessa Williams offered to sing live if someone paid $50,000 for her watch, which someone willingly did. Williams wowed the standing room only crowd with an a cappella rendition of "Losing My Mind," which she sings in her hit show "Sondheim on Sondheim".

A different celebrity signed the back of each Audemars Piguet watch, including Scarlett Johansson, Hugh Jackman, Jay-Z and more. You can view the entire auction catalog here. All auctions that say "live Bid" next to them will end on May 17th, with final bidding done live at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York. Online only auctions end on May 24th. An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Las Vegas Strip Tourbillon, number 1 of 35, signed by rapper Jay-Z, is already at $70,000. It is expected to bring over $200,000.
