BR01-92 and BR01-94 Instruments by BELL & ROSS
[ via Bell & Ross ]
Bell & Ross recently released two Limited Edition Instrument wristwatch models. They released the BR01 Instrument Red and the BR01 Instrument Yellow, which actually consist of two versions each, so there are actually four models. The model numbers end with either a 92 or a 94. The models that end with 92 have automatic movements and the models that end with 94 have automatic chronograph movements. Each version is limited to 500 pieces, which is a respectable number for a limited edition. I hate when manufacturers make over 1000 pieces and then abuse the term "limited edition".

All four versions have an XXL 46 mm case, which is very impressive considering many manufactures use smaller cases for their non-chrono watches. The cases are made of 316L glass bead blasted stainless steel with a black "carbon powder coating".
All versions come with anti-reflective sapphire crystals front and back, 100 meter water resistance, and the choice of a rubber or heavy-duty synthetic fabric strap. The movement in the BR01-92s is an automatic mechanical ETA 2892 and the movement in the BR01-94s is an automatic mechanical ETA 2894.
All four models have the same case dimensions, but the 94s add a chrono function, so add $2000 to the $4000 base price if you want the chronograph.
Thanks for the images Eileen!

I hear you on the Hydromax issue-- they have to change out the oil to change the battery I assume and B&R is the only company with the ability to do this. (Send them an email in French and I bet they will respond)
As far as the Bell & Ross brand I have liked their watches since I first saw a Hydromax watch back in 2003 or 2004.

I love this brand. Their watches are great. I am wearing Bell&ROSS 92 version right now. I bought it last week.

thanks jason - great site btw. i think for the most part, high end dealers can handle repairs, so the manu's don't really need to get involved - in the case of the hydromax(no pun intended) it's impossible for anyone but the factory to change the battery. still, you'd think they could reply to my emails.

I spoke with a watch dealer last month who told me many of the watch brands do not provide good after the sale service. He specifically said Ball is very good, but he said too many brands are bad.
The only thing I can say is if they are going to charge high prices for advanced timepieces then they should provide high dollar service.
I wish you luck and I hope these companies make some positive adjustments in the immediate future.

while I love my B&R's, the Black & white edition of the Instrument line is really sweet, and the Classic 123 is a constant friend, but unfortunately I've had a hell of a time with customer service replacing the battery on my Hydromax, which is now taking 6+ months with no response from the factory. Great watches, shite customer service, IMHO
